What are your sources for white page information?

Yahoo! receives its database of names, telephone numbers and postal addresses from Four11 Corporation. Four11 Corporation's names are compiled from published white page directories and other publicly available sources. Unlisted numbers should NOT included in the database.

What happened to the "search by telephone number" feature?

We have elected to discontinue the reverse lookup feature because of privacy concerns that have been raised by users.

When will the data be updated next?

The database is generally updated every quarter (every three months). The exact date of the updates, however, will vary.

What if I want to add or change a listing?

Four11 is the content provider for Yahoo! People Search. If you would like to add a new listing or change an exisitng listing please email support@four11.com.

What if I have an unlisted number?

Our listings should not include unpublished numbers. If you have recently requested the telephone company to de-list your number (i.e., within a year), you will appear in your local directory until a new edition is printed and will likely appear in the on-line white pages as well. If your listing is posted in our database and you are not listed, please use our suppression form to have your listing suppressed.

Why is there an old or previous entry for me in the telephone directory?

The Yahoo! Telephone Directory information comes from public sources with close links to the Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOC's). Entries in the directory should be equivalent to what is found in local Telephone White Page directories. If you find an old or previous entry for yourself in the Four11 Telephone Directory, first ensure that this old or previous entry is NOT in fact still in the Telephone White Pages directory. We have found in most cases that old or previous phone directory listings are still in the phone book. If it is critically important that an old or previous listing be removed immediately, please use our suppression form to have your listing suppressed.
